From an Idea to Zimply Global

Zimply Global was shaped by more than twenty-plus years and over two million safe miles on the road—but its defining moment came on Carabao Island in the Philippines in February 2023.
I had seen for years how hard it could be to find useful information in unfamiliar places. On that trip, the same problem appeared in different forms. A platform could not complete our reservation for the stay until I reached the host directly through WhatsApp.
A local place our driver knew for buko juice and fries could not be found online. A cave-and-cliff-diving location appeared on a map but offered little useful information about the experience or the business behind it.
Then an approaching storm changed our plans. Because our host warned us directly, we were able to leave early and avoid a far more difficult situation with transportation and flights. On the boat from Carabao Island to Boracay, the larger idea became clear: valuable places, local knowledge, businesses, and real human connections were too often separated from the systems travelers depended on.
That night, I told my then-girlfriend—now my wife—that I wanted to design a platform that would become Zimply Global. She said yes. The goal was simple: make more of the world’s experiences easier to find, understand, and connect with while giving travelers, businesses, and affiliates more control over what happens next.
What We Believe
Zimply Global is built around a few simple beliefs that guide how we grow, what we build, and how we treat the people who use the platform.
- Keep control in people’s hands. Travelers should be free to explore, learn, connect, and decide what happens next. Businesses and affiliates should have room to build their own presence, relationships, and path forward without Zimply taking over what belongs to them.
- Make travel information useful. A name on a map is not always enough. People need useful information, real context, and the ability to discover both what they came looking for and what they did not know was there.
- Be clear about Zimply’s role. Zimply is here to help people find, learn, share, and connect. We do not process reservations or payments for third-party businesses, and we do not need to stand in the middle of every relationship for the platform to be useful.
