Zimply Global’s Accessibility Statement

Zimply Global’s Accessibility Statement Last Updated:

Zimply Global Ventures LLC, doing business as Zimply Global (“we,” “us,” or “our”), is committed to making our website, https://zimplyglobal.com (the “Site”), accessible to people with disabilities. As a solo developer-driven operation, we are actively implementing accessibility improvements to ensure an inclusive experience and reduce barriers, guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.

Conformance Status of Accessibility Statement

WCAG 2.2 defines accessibility requirements with three levels: A, AA, and AAA. The Site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level A due to identified technical limitations from recent audits. We are working to assess and enhance accessibility to achieve higher conformance, prioritizing user access as our platform grows. Check below for changes and updates made to our accessibility improvements and the changes made to this accessibility statement. View recent accessibility updates.

Measures to Support Accessibility

We are taking the following steps to improve accessibility:

  • Providing alt text for all non-user-generated images to support screen readers, ensuring content is accessible to visually impaired users.
  • Adding title attributes to some embedded content (e.g., YouTube videos, VR, choose-your-own-adventure VR) to improve compatibility with assistive technologies.
  • Labeling page sections (e.g., “Main Content,” “Tip Section”) to organize content and support navigation, with plans to adopt semantic HTML and ARIA consistently.
  • Using Bootstrap for responsive design, while addressing accessibility challenges through ongoing improvements.
  • Conducting accessibility audits with free tools like WAVE and Accessibility Checker to identify and prioritize fixes, including recent scans revealing key issues.
  • Studying WCAG guidelines to implement best practices as a solo developer.

Known Limitations

Recent audits (e.g., via Accessibility Checker) identified 93 critical issues, primarily affecting screen reader compatibility and visual access. Due to technical constraints, some areas of the Site may not be fully accessible:

  • Landmarks and Structure: 54 elements lack proper landmarks (e.g., , ), impacting navigation for screen reader users (WCAG 1.3.1, Level A). Headings order is incorrect in 2 places, lists are unstructured in 2, and select elements lack accessible names in 1 (WCAG 1.3.1, 4.1.2, Level A).
  • Links and Images: 13 links lack discernible text, and 6 elements miss alternate text or presentation roles (WCAG 2.4.4, 1.1.1, Level A).
  • Contrast: 15 elements fail WCAG AA minimum contrast ratios for text and backgrounds, affecting low vision and colorblind users (WCAG 1.4.3, Level AA).
  • Skip Links: Keyboard navigation links (e.g., to skip to main content) are disabled due to a Bootstrap feature causing display issues (overlaying content). We are researching solutions to restore keyboard navigability (WCAG 2.1.1, Level A).
  • Third-Party Content: Embedded YouTube videos, virtual reality (VR) content, choose-your-own-adventure (CYOA) VR videos, and user-generated images may lack captions or alt text, as these are controlled by external platforms. Title attributes are added inconsistently, and we are working to apply them uniformly where possible (WCAG 1.1.1, 1.2.2, Level A/AA).
  • Captions: Videos and multimedia lack captions due to reliance on third-party embeds. We aim to enable captions where we have control (e.g., via YouTube settings) (WCAG 1.2.2, Level AA).
  • Container Labeling: Page sections are labeled (e.g., “Main Content,” “Tip Section”), but inconsistent use of semantic HTML or ARIA limits their accessibility. We are working to implement these consistently (WCAG 1.3.1, Level A).

Three manual audits are required for full evaluation (e.g., screen reader testing with NVDA). If you encounter these or other accessibility barriers, please contact us.
